Gun cleaning and gun care supplies
Keeping your guns well oiled, clean and rust free is a good method of practice for any marksman, whether for hunting or just perfecting your aim. One of the most accepted methods of keeping a gun rust free is through the use of "bluing" - a substance that, when applied to steel, coats the metal and black-oxydizes it so that it has some rust protection, and so it is given that blue-black color that so many gun owners covet. Usually, the gun is "blued" at the factory during the crafting process, while the metal is being cooled. This type of factory bluing is actually the best protection for the metal of your gun. However, for scratches, you will want to cover it with a consumer-grade bluing product. This will cover the scratches and help protect your gun from corrosion and rust if you also oil the gun regularly.
